Hotel Review: Meininger Hotel, Berlin Hauptbahnhof, Berlin, Germany - August 2013

Detailed hotel review of the Meininger Hotel which is located next to Berlin Hauptbahnhof (main railway station), this includes a bedroom inspection, and views around the communal public areas of the hotel including the lift, rooftop terrace and bar, downstairs bar, reception, lounge, breakfast room, kitchen and bicycle storage.

The review is mixed, mainly because the Meininger did not have proper air conditioning and the temperature in Berlin was in the 30s, making the entire hotel ridiculously hot and very sweaty. We had to use a fan from reception all night long, in our room, which was like an oven.

I will add to this, that the staff at the hotel were excellent, and gave great customer service, however the price for a room in what is really a hostel, was a little too expensive.
