Comoros Islands and their rare biodiversity

In the Indian Ocean, off the east coast of Africa, the Comoros Islands fauna and flora present a high degree of biodiversity.

The archipelago is one of:
- 25 hotspots of global biodiversity
- 35 critical eco-regions
- 43 priority marine regions for their biological specificity

UNDP, with partners such as GEF and GCF, has supported government and community efforts to protect the environment and natural resources for three decades.
