Checa Ecuador TREEHOUSE Living : Unique Hotel in Ecuador
One of the most unique hotels in Ecuador and I paid only $40 for a night in a treehouse in Checa Ecuador on a dairy farm.
You can book this incredible Ecuador hotel at: https://haciendachanchan.com/lodging/
I visited Checa with my friend Andres, who is an Ecuadorian tour guide and avid birdwatcher. And while I don't consider myself an outdoorsy person I suggested we go for a hike to see more of these amazing view.
It wasn't easy but I did it. And now I need to get a pair of hiking boots so I can be better prepared. Hacienda Chan Chan is owned by an American family who has lived in Checa for 7 years. They operate a dairy farm and have incredible yogurt, cream, butter and cheese. They also make their own bread.
Breakfast is included in the hotel price and it's such a steal at $40/night. We also paid $8 each for dinner and $9 for three local Ecuadorian craft beers.
Checa is just under an hour outside Cuenca and if you don't have a car, Hacienda Chan Chan can meet you in town if you need to take the bus. It's worth one night in this Ecuadorian hotel but I'd book two nights.

Need an English speaking guide in Ecuador? I hired my friend Andres to tour the country, he's got an SUV and is a licensed national guide. The best way to reach him is on Whatapp: +593 98 711 9550 and second best by email at andrivet77 AT gmail.com.
His family also owns a series of small hotels in Cuenca called La Casa Cuencana and you can book directly with him.

// MORE ABOUT ME!//
Hi I'm Ayngelina and my full time job is my site BaconisMagic.ca it's all about the best food around the world and how to make it at home.
In 2010 I left a job in advertising, 5 year relationship and sold all my possessions to travel the world. In the last ten years I've had some crazy experiences and even owned a restaurant in Toronto at one time. And prior to 2020 I had been based in Cuba.
When the world shut down I returned to Canada and decided to teach myself video. I wanted to share more than just words and photos but to show people the adventures I have learning about food around the world.
I'm not married. I have no kids. But I do have a lot of local friends who help me discover the best local tips.
