Inside Taliban-Controlled Afghanistan 🇦🇫 Since I started to travel and explore Asia, Afghanistan has always been my dream country. The movies I have watched and the books I have read about Afghanistan have built dreamy expectations in my head of the country that I would not be able to experience anywhere else.

My visit did not disappoint - Afghanistan was time travel from bustling & unorganized bazaars, street shaves, same clothing in different colors, no brands, magnificent landscapes, and the bravest people with the biggest hearts of hospitality.

In my trip, we covered Mazar-i-Sharif, Kabul & Bamyan.

Visiting Afghanistan is a sensitive topic for many people. As in any country I go to, the main objective is to share the day-to-day life and spotlight the ordinary people that the mass media fail to capture. No matter how you feel about my trip, here is my summary.

Despite facing significant challenges, Afghanistan has many positive aspects that deserve recognition: diverse landscapes, rich history, warm hospitality, delicious cuisine, resilient people, and more!

Safety:

This was the biggest concern of many people I have talked to, and naturally, that has been the main worry when you enter a war-torn country over the last 40 years. With the takeover of the Taliban, the country is much safer than before; at least no conflicts are going on.

My Persian surname, which is the same as the current supreme leader of the Taliban, my cultural background, being a man with a +3 years long beard, and looking like one of the locals do not qualify me to talk about safety much when it comes to being a tourist. I had a significant advantage, considering the above.

Disclaimer: This is not a travel advisory. Afghanistan has a government that has not been recognized by any country, with no embassies and international relations. I am a professional traveler who explored the country with an organized guide.

(21 Jan 2018) An Afghan official says an assault on the Intercontinental Hotel in Kabul has ended after more than 12 hours with all the attackers killed by security forces.
The Taliban claimed the attack, which began late Saturday, saying five gunmen armed with suicide vests targeted foreigners and Afghan officials.
An Interior Ministry spokesman said the last attacker was killed Sunday afternoon, more than 12 hours after the attack began.
The attack killed six people, including a foreigner and a telecommunications official from the western Farah province who was attending a conference.
Six others, including three security forces, were wounded in the attack on the heavily guarded luxury hotel popular with foreigners and Afghan officials.
A Taliban spokesman said the insurgents initially planned to attack the hotel Thursday night, but postponed the assault because there was a wedding underway and they wanted to avoid civilian casualties.

Enjoyed the Asian restaurant wild Rice. The waiter was really lovely and attentive and made me as a solo female traveller feel comfortable.
An incredible oasis of luxury and calm in Kabul. Security seems now much more serious than in the past.

The security is a bit tedious with repetitive searching from one spot to another only a 1 minute walk away is a bit pointless.
too much security, they frisk you all over every time you enter the property, the security staff is too harsh.

I have the e mail giving me permission to film my room and the garden area , the rest i asked hotel security , theres nothing in here that isnt already on you tube so i reuploaded it . Hotel Review: Centrovital Hotel and Spa in Spandau, Berlin, Germany, reviewed in June 2017.

The Centrovital Hotel is located in Berlin's North West Spandau district, close to the Havel, and a 5-7 minute taxi ride (9 Euro) from Berlin Spandau railway station. The hotel is a 20 minute walk from the Spandau Zitadelle, in an ex-industrial regenerated building complex.

I stayed at the Centrovital for two nights in June 2017. My room (426) had an internal courtyard view, it was large with a full-length mirror, three beds, television, two large wardrobes, a safe, ample plug sockets, and a fridge. Unfortunately the room was not air-conditioned, which made it a bit too warm in Summer for my liking.

The hotel is a great place, it has an excellent swimming pool and spa facility. Probably the best swimming pool that I have seen in a hotel in Germany. If you are wanting a Berlin city break with a touch of luxury and a great swimming pool I really recommend this place.

This film features: views of the hotel from the street, reception, lobby, lift / elevator, a detailed review of room 426, views of the fourth floor, conferencing area, rooftop bar, swimming pool and spa area.

This 4-star design hotel offers modern rooms and free use of the gym. It is a 2-minute walk from Berlin’s Kurfürstendamm shopping street and the KaDeWe department store.

Dating from the 1920s, the Hotel Ellington provides modern, air-conditioned rooms with a minibar, and TV. Each room includes an elegant, open-plan bathroom with shower. WiFi is provided free of charge in all areas, and guests in Superior Rooms even enjoy complimentary high-speed internet.A rich breakfast buffet is served each morning. Detailed hotel review of the Meininger Hotel which is located next to Berlin Hauptbahnhof (main railway station), this includes a bedroom inspection, and views around the communal public areas of the hotel including the lift, rooftop terrace and bar, downstairs bar, reception, lounge, breakfast room, kitchen and bicycle storage.

The review is mixed, mainly because the Meininger did not have proper air conditioning and the temperature in Berlin was in the 30s, making the entire hotel ridiculously hot and very sweaty. We had to use a fan from reception all night long, in our room, which was like an oven.

I will add to this, that the staff at the hotel were excellent, and gave great customer service, however the price for a room in what is really a hostel, was a little too expensive.

Welcome to JW Marriott Frankfurt, my 20th JW Marriott property! Originally the Jumeirah Frankfurt, this hotel rebranded in 2022 and has since been undergoing a complete transformation into a JW Marriott. While the rooms have been fully renovated, the lobby and public spaces are still awaiting a refresh to be completed at some point in 2025.

In this video, I’ll take you through the Panoramic Suite and Skyline Junior Suite (my favorite), explore the hotel’s facilities, and share my honest thoughts on whether you should stay here on your next trip to Frankfurt. With its stunning skyline views and upscale design, this hotel has a lot of potential, but does it deliver? Let’s find out!

Renaissance Hamburg Hotel lies in the heart of Hamburg, not far from the main shopping district and the beautiful Aster lake. And if you are in the mood, walking distance to the new Elbphilharmonie.

The studio suite we stayed in was large, with a comfortable sofa and two chairs, a nice working area, two queen-sized beds in front of a cool headboard and a large entrance area with closets and a stylish bench. We were impressed by the great lighting scheme in the room, lots of hidden LED-lists and lamps, making a warm athmosphere.
